Geneviève Martineau

Social Meditation Guide
When she was young, Geneviève wanted to save the planet. She became an environmental engineer, completed a master's degree in bioremediation of contaminated soils, and worked for 15 years in life cycle analysis to understand and reduce the environmental impacts of the products and services we consume.

At some point, it became clear to her that she needed more. She wanted to shift toward human connection and the heart. Practicing meditation in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition gradually led her to more introspection. At forty, driven by her desire for grounding and connection, Geneviève became a shiatsu therapist, a practice of resonance and sensation that she still practices today. More recently, she has become curious about the subtle aspects of existence—intuition and the invisible.

"Over the years, I’ve learned that my role is to create bridges between heads and hearts, to weave connections between people in a real, caring, and living web." The practice of social meditation, which she has been facilitating for nearly five years, is directly aligned with this desire for connection to oneself, to others, and to the environment.
